Jill Kendrick, MSW, LSWGeriatric Care Manager

From a young age, I was taught by my parents the value of helping others.  By volunteering my time with several different organizations through my youth, I found it was personally fulfilling to know I was making a positive difference in the lives of people who needed support and assistance.

Following college, I had the opportunity to impact the lives of those more needy in the world by serving in the Peace Corps.  I lived for 28 months in Senegal and resided in a village with no electricity or running water, with a multi-generational family, where I had the opportunity to experience, first-hand, the added layer of wisdom, perspective, and humor that elders brought to the extended family unit.  This piqued my interest in someday working with the elderly population.

After returning home from Senegal, I earned my Masters in Social Work and a Masters in Special Education, in tandem, and initially focused my career in the area of early education.

Throughout the past decade or so, I’ve spent a great deal of time assisting aging neighbors, as well as volunteering with local hospice and grief counseling groups.  These experiences led me to shift my professional focus in the direction of caring for the elderly.

The mission of Peace Aging Care Experts is such a natural fit for me as it embraces my professional and personal values.   Caring for our aging and disabled loved ones means support for all involved in their care so that we can help derive the best outcomes possible.   I am grateful to have the opportunity to use my education, experience, and skills to successfully guide families through the confusing and sometimes overwhelming world of eldercare.
